Nalas President and senior chemical engineer, Jerry Salan, will be presenting at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers 2012 Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh. Jerry currently serves as chair of the “Process Scale-up Techniques” session which he describes as “a mixture of art & science, process scale-up is a complex and vital task in new process development involving bench-scale and pilot plant activities. This session brings together papers in an effort to teach best practices in process scale-up. The session will include papers that describe work using on-line analytics and modeling. Jerry will present his paper on “Scale-up of Primary Explosives Using Reaction Engineering Tools.”
